The book is possibly the most comprehensive textbook on Rhinology yet. All aspects right from basic sciences to advanced rhinology are covered in a systematic and comprehensive manner.
The book for the purposes of organization and convenience is divided into Advanced Rhinology. This section mostly deals with the theory of rhinology. This is done in a comprehensive manner. Olfaction physiology of the nose are covered extensively. an interesting chapter is 'the electronic nose'. Midfacial degloving, anterior skull base surgery are all covered comprehensively and thoroughly.
The second section deals exclusively with "endoscopic sinus surgery". It goes through the basic steps and ends with all the nuances of this rapidly expanding branch of medicine. The illustrations are superb. An interesting chapter is "endoscopic sinus surgery on the nose with no landmarks". All the worlds leading experts in this field feature here.
The third section deals with facial plastic surgery in an in depth manner. Again all the illustrations are just superb and are sharp and self explanatory. All the latest techniques like botox, brow lift all feature in detail.
The fourth and final section deals with facial trauma. Reconstruction techniques also feature here.
The book is beautifully printed and the publication values are awesome. It is a well organized, comprehensive and thorough textbook. It is very well written and beautifully produced. But then not for nothing is Germany the publication capital of the world. The paper on which the book has been printed is acid free and is impeccable. A must read and a must have for postgraduate students and consultants alike.
